The US Treasury Department announced on Friday the imposition of new sanctions on Golden Global Bank on suspicion of its connection to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Treasury Secretary Scott Besent indicated that the recent sanctions imposed by the United States confirm its seriousness about tightening the blockade on Iran. The minister explained that the US administration hopes that it will not have to impose sanctions on more banks, noting that this depends on the speed of the international community’s action and stopping its support for the Iranian regime. “I hope there is no need to impose sanctions on any more banks, but it ultimately depends on how quickly the international community regains its awareness and stops supporting the murderous Iranian regime.”
